Hey guys, and yeah i'm a newbie, but i need to know the best way to fix up my 90 240sx. i have a KA24E in it right now and was wondering if there are enough options out there to, either by making them or buying them, increase my performance of the ka24e to a respectable level, or should i just add an RB25 or SR20 to my wish list. I've tried to get the engine fairy to take my KA adn give me an SR, but she says the SR's cost too much for my budget right now. Keep in mind i am a sheet metal fabricator and with the proper specs or guidanc can make just about anything needed. i'd really like to make this KA run like a scalded dog, its just hell trying to find performanc parts for the weenie little 12 valve. Any help would be appreciated. MY current plans include an Evo 14b turbo, 550 RC injectors, upgraded MAF(which one by the way?) and probably a set of underdrive pulleys with an HKS custom cut cam(unless an SR cam would swap in?) also i'd love to keep this car as much of a sleeper as possible, thus the fixed up KA24E. could you imagine the look on someones face after ou beat them and they ask what you have under the hood, then you reply "Oh, its just a KA24E."

if you want ka-t go for it. a little search will let you see how much support is out there. A sr cam will not fit a ka24 motor, hybridka makes custom ground cam(s) as well as a few others I cant think of now. I know the look you are talking about it is a good one. Maf and injectors dont need to be messed with till about 5~7psi of boost, results are mix with the injectors. If you just want to own all the rice in town sell it tho.

thanks guys! i've learned quite a bit by searching, and as far as the weenie motor comment, i stand corrected! does anyone have dyno sheets of timeslips to give me an idea of what kind of power i can expect?

I would say your wallet would determine how much power you can make. Its know that you can only have two of three(cheap, fast, reliable) you pick which two are most important and then compare against the bank account the you know what to do.

example stock bottom end with stock head/valvetrain with junk yard turbo will be fast and cheap but will NOT be a reliable setup. But a built bottom end with upgraded valvetrain and brand new turbo will be reliable and fast as heel but NOT cheap. Then you have me stock with bolt ons no turbo, I'm slow but cheap and reliable.

good luck and keep on searchin'
