Hey does anybody know this site or has this installed? Curious it is making me think twice about the SR. Only because I spent a Grand on my transmission and clutch. I hate to throw all that away next year. Also if I rebuild the motor myself which I might do. I could put a grand in it and add that turbo kit. Finally have fun at the stop lights :) What do you all think?

I have some of IAP's stuff and Marc is a top notch guy. If you give them a call, tell him Nathan said howdy and to ask what the stage 2 car just put down at the dyno ;)

Mark is the one that convinced me to go KAT. I went for a ride in his car last year and that was it I was hooked. Mark has good stuff and he has done his homework. I plan on getting the stage 1 plus from him soon.

Isn't 3299 kind of steep? The manifold and down pipe are nice, but after you subtract those prices you are still at $2481So for $2481 you get a intercooler, turbo wastegate, FMU and lines? Not even a blow off valve....Considering that FMU's are junk (in my opinion at least) that doesnt sound too much like a bargain.

seems like they want a little too much for just that kit. I have seen respectable turbo kits only running 2200 for the KA. The ross pistons and rods I have found on other websites for half that price. my 2cents

I was thinking it would take about 2.8k for used sr and transmission another 2k for the install. Now you got to replace a few parts to get it up to the stage 1 hp ratings. So if I can rebuild my motor myself about grand for parts and headshop work. I think I would be a little better off this route. Plus I would have a new motor not one I don`t know anything about.

My only beef with that turbo kit is the FMU and the intercooler. The intercooler has very crappy endtanks and the core looks like a bar and plate (definition of a cheap intercooler).

The main reason I like the IAP kit is that they are local has a warranty and 320hp is just the numbers I am looking for. Marc will also sell just the parts you need so if you dont like the IC get someone elses. I would rather pay extra than to get it cheaper and have no customer support because I live 5 states away.

well when you buy the best you get the warranty anyways. thats just too much for so little power

I used Marc's manifold, an aeromotive fpr, wastegate, oil lines, pistons, and rods. I provided my own turbo, intercooler, and fuel management setup. I really like his stage 1 plus kit and if I had bought my car with a good, running engine, I probably would have just gotten that, put it on and been happy :) Instead, I'm a tool who still has a non-running car :(

Even at $3300, compared to other kits out there like the FMAX, the IAP kit owns. I've already seen the log manifolds and cast manifolds, great for low boost power but eventually I wanted to build for high boost. The IAP manifold may not have a merge collector, but at that price it more than does it job for bang / buck considering what it is..... and if people can make 500RWHP on the cast manifolds than I imagine that this will only do a much better job.

IAP's newer manifolds have much better welds are are very think, mild steel, which is good. Since the think mild steel and the coating on the manifold does a good job of not cooking everything under your hood like stainless steel would if it weren't ceramic coated.

As for the Greddy Kit... Hmm let me see, the turbo uses an internal wastegate, external wastegate is just plain more flexible better and more expensive. The T3/T04E turbo is better matched for the KA and has proven to make big power, rather than "potential". The Greddy fuel solution rocks though... The Greddy kit is a great way to go if you want a low boost car and want to keep it there...... And just because the turbo will support up to 450HP doesn't mean everything else on the kit is great for that. At that power level consider an external wastegate solution and manifold for better boost control.

How ever you decide to go, full kit or piecing everything together is up to you. I saved myself the trouble of shopping and driving around for parts here and there and just bought the whole kit..... Pricey? Compared to other kits and what I was getting, no. You can always find a away to go cheaper, and cheaper, no matter how cheap you go someone will be even cheaper. I'm happy with what I got for what i paid.

I think they say that little power because honestly you dont want to go over that relatively with 6.5 psi of boost on the stock KA. It is possible I believe after a rebuild and proper tuning.

IF I was you I would rebuild my engine and wait for WDRacing to get his kits done he said that they would cost less than 3000 dollars and have everything. I mean everything for you to go boost.

BTW I have emailed and bugged WDRacing about his kits so much I think he will now hunt me down and shoot me but damn his kit sounds so good and interesting I cant keep my hands off the keyboard typing to him.

I think he even has them setup to produce a good 300 hp. Hes working on his S14 turbo kit right now. Then well be working on the S13 SOHC version after.
