Okay so my 1990 tt is blowing smoke, turbos have finally started losing life, and I need to rebuild or swap in new ones. It has 154k on it and I've already poured quite a bit of money into it. Should I do it or is it not worth the time and money? I hear its 15 hours to just reinstall new ones so fair lady life isn't treating me well right now ): Advice would be lovely

Welcome to NICO!

Bummer to hear about your misfortunes in life and the car.
Such is life owning a hopped up sports car. 154k is a pretty long time for those original turbos to last. As a cost saving alternative, you could attempt rebuilding them with new seals and such as new turbos are very pricey. A reputable shop or some online services will also rebuild them for you for a fraction of the cost of new units.
If you have a pro rebuild them, you'll at least have a warranty and less downtime than if you tried to rebuild them yourself. They aren't too difficult, but there are a couple of tools you'll need to buy to make it happen.

OP, the answer to your question lies within you. Can you afford to do the work moneterally? Can you afford to have the car down while the work is done? Can you affrod to pay for the work or will you do it yourself? If you do it yourself, do you have the expertise? There are too many variable for anyone to tell you if its worth it. Is it worth it to you? I suggest you ponder a bit and write down your plan of action, yes as wierd as it seems, get a pen or pencil and a sheet of paper and write step by step what you will do, whether it be taking the car to a shop or doing everything yourself. Then price every step, not just $$$s but time too. That will quickly tell you where you stand on the issue. And remember always the 6Ps: Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance.
