okay so my question is not 240 specific but I have recently installed a turbo and most of the install looks good but once the motor warms up I get a small drip from a bolt just below the oil return line. its right at the flange. has anyone else encountered this problem? I am at a major crossroads here am I over my head or what?:help

Is the leak from where the return line meets the turbo or the oil pan?

Either way I guess you will just have to disconnect it, clean all mating surfaces and use alot of RTV to seal everything. Watch out though, if the RTV gets inside the return tube it will create a clog that will slow or stop oil return, thereby ruining your turbo from excessive heat.

Are you talking about your coolant return line? Actually the coolant is above the oil I believe. Im not at my car right know and the beer is tasteing really gooood. Im assuming its oil or is it water? Hell, is there any line going to it to begin with? aye aye aye....Im killin me!

Most people do not go with water cooling on aftermarket turbos, so I assumed oil. But he did say non 240sx specific so I guess it could be water?

it is the oil return line, its on the turbo side. and the leak is dripping off of a flange bolt.

Well like I said it is probably not sealed. Before actually taking the line off you can try to tighten the bolts (not too tight, don't want to strip anything) and see if that helps. But almost 100% it is geting past the gasket. Did you use something like RTV for your gasket or something like a paper gasket that came with it or one that you cut out yourself?

If tightening the bolts doesn't solve the problem you will have to remove the line, clean the mating surfaces, re-apply the gasket and tighten everything down again.

dumb question but do you have a gasket inbetween the turbo and flange? If so, are the bolts super-tight? If so, un-do them, use some proper sealant stuff, rebolt everything up and let the sealant dry. Hope it works out for you. Sucks to have a tiny little thing like that messing up your boost experience.

Also, make 100% sure that this is where the leak is coming from. Leaks can be deceiving.

I have the gasket that came with the Greddy Kit. but I am not using any sealent. i have tried tightening it twice. What does RTV stand for? is it similar to locktite?

I dunno, it doesnt matter. Just go to the car store and look for it. You want the highest temp available

OH yeah, not to freak you out but a friend of mine has the greddy hit and has had to sent his turbo back already ~5k miles on the kit

rtv is a silicone sealant. Dunno what it stands for--you can get blue or black or even orange from you local parts store.
