do it yourself...doesnt matter if u dont have much time im sure we are all busy people...even if you spend a few hours a day 3 days a week....you can still get it done in a short time if you have the tools...it also does not require much space...you will be under the car / hood anyway...if you're near san diego i can help you out.

yeah, Steve welded my oil drain hose on the oil pan for the turbo. He actually gave me lots of advises too. And other jobs i can't do at my apartment. And He used to work at nissan dealer, became technician->senior technician->specialist->master specialist? I don't know. Anyway he's the only shop guy i trust in this area. Irvine suck. Rip-off people, everybody know.

Loveless, everytime i see your sign, scares me.

its weird how you say steve cause my names steven lol...well i dont even want to think about how much a shop would charge to install a turbo kit..its not hard at all but the labor hours you have to put in would sum up to a lot of money....try it yourself turbosil..its not like the shop wont be there if you f*** up

Do it yourself man. Look @ thekawaii, haha - he did much of it himself, ran into some problems, but worked them all out - he doesn't even have a garage .

I'm putting mine together during weekends and lots of patience.

What exactly have you done? Have you gotten the downpipe put together yet to bolt everything up? That can cost anywhere between 100-600 depending on car/what is needed to be done. Personally around this area I have only been quoted 300-600.

Do you have intercooler piping yet... That costs around 300 or so if you don't do it yourself also.

From simply a labor point of view, I think you are looking at around 1k+. I'd rather spend a few weekends and put mine together, knowing that I will be the most careful and fastidious than any old shop would. Then like everyone else has said... if you mess up, there's always the shop.

Take care of as much things as you can.

Basically my plan of action so I can still have my daily driver:

1) Relocate Battery one weekend (done)2) Fuel System one weekend (done)3) Run electronics weekend here & there (half done)4) drop oil pan (I have a plug for mine) & motor mounts 1 weekend5) Do a "mini" engine rebuild such as oil pump, water pump, head gasket, etc.6) test fit and running some intercooler piping one weekend or so7) install and finish and BOOOST

It's not so bad once you start splitting up the tasks. It feels much more rewarding too, since you know you did this yourself. Having a couple buddies around helps too .

Damn, stuck up bishez...

Well, I just have a bunch of couplers, u bends, etc.

Have you tried corner3 garage? or maybe phase2motortrend?

What I'm planning on doing is mocking up the piping w/ hoses/clamps etc - then bring it to a local muffler shop and get them to replicate the piping... that's what most guys do - I think that costs the least.

I'm telling you man, Go to Corner3garage.I never met shop guy like him.I know you need to drill a hole on oil pan and weld it, but it's not easy to take off the pan. (it's easy to take off, but hard to put it back )

Brokeas240, I finally finished the s13 front end conversion. WHat a great way to waist $700.
