I was cruising for turbos and found thishttp://www.atpturbo.com/Mercha...e=GRT

I am very much the novice when it comes to turbo selection but to my self taught eye this one looks like a fantastic bolt on turbo for the mild CA. Look at that sweet spot on the map, 30 lb/min at 2.2 absolute (a tick over 17lbs or 1.2bar) internally wastegated responsive exhaust housing with a ball bearing cartridge ready to go.

Whatcha think?

I know the ms6 guys upgrade to them very often as the K04 POS they have tends to blow seals like it is going out of style. those who have lots of mods tend to go up to the GT35R, but the 30 seems to be a nice mid point for those who havent upgraded Everything else.

EMS seems to be a real weak point thus far for them

The internally gated one uses a t25 flange. You can also get it in a t3 external gate version. Its a sick turbo, but was a little much for me when I got mine. Should have gotten the 3071 though. Its siiick.

It looks like a good one to me! It's got plenty of head room for boost and flow alike. 40lb/min @ 2.2bar and you're still about 74% efficient. That's not bad at all.

I see a lot of what turbo should I get threads and this one looked like really good screw for most of the builds round here. Here is the same compressor with some different backsides for guys with T3 flanged manifolds and/or wastegateshttp://www.atpturbo.com/Mercha...e=GRTI would get something hugemongous cuz I'm a jerk like that. I know there are bigger turbos out there but be honest, who's really cracking 400 hp? This sucker gets it done real nice and with the internal gate is bolt on for the stock manifold. If I didn't have a few turbos sitting on the shelf I would be picking this one up.

TMS, why the hell would you be looking into turbos when you have two of the best-sized turbos EVAR for the ca18? I speak of course of the 18g.

I'll plot out the compressor maps when I get home.

That is a quality qute. I will be looking forward to the spool calculations on this one. Could possibly be an alternative to the S15 or FPBig28 Upgrade. Thanks again........
