I was driving on the highway when I started noticing sparks coming from the rear of my car. I pulled over and smokes was under the car and I saw flames under the hood. I turned the car off and pop the hood and the oil return line was on fire (sparks could have been from melting rubber hitting the ground) and the turbo was glowing red hot. I poured some water on it to put the fire out. The o2 sensor is damaged and wires burnt. I realize the radiator wasn't hot and the temperature gauge was normal the whole time I was driving. I wanted to get some advise of what I should do or check before I try to restart my car again. Any advise so I don't damage my motor/turbo more then it might haved would be great. I'm going to check the thermostate and water pump for the cold temp on the radiator. Please help out if you had this issue also please.

I have no experience with an issue like this, but it kinda sounds like one of your coolant lines for the turbo got clogged or something to that effect.

I had this happen once....toooo much fuel overheated the turbine housing melting my oil return on my catch can ....boom instant flames. Your turbo might still be ok but most likely will be poop. Check your fuel psi....Also if you are constantly in boost your turbo will get really hot and can thin out your oil and spin bearrings. Whats your driving style like? Are you a boost freak?
