ive been searching for the past 3 days trying to find answers on how to clock this turbo or if i need an adapter or something.. and i cant find anything.

here is my exact problem.. I have a disco potato (gt2860rs) the wastegate bracket is in the way to clock this turbo. could i take the bracket off clock the compressor side like the stock turbo position then remount the bracket underneath? or do i need to get a different bracket? or should i just sell this annoying turbo and get something else.

ANY TIPS or HELP will really be appreciated.

ATP says this is for transverse (fwd) applications, not rwd. Might still work tho. Is this an actual Garrett turbo?

this is how it should look... got this from Sport Compact Car magazine's project silvia...

"For proper fitment, the turbine and center housing have to be aligned just as they were on the stock turbo. Using this cheap bubble level, we were able to measure the angle of the oil drain flange with the turbine intake flat on the ground (or a roll of duct tape) and duplicate that alignment on the Potato. The compressor housing alignment was based on alignment of the wastegate actuator and clearance of the manifold. We had to flip the actuator bracket around backward and trim the stock exhaust manifold heat shield, but nothing had to be fabricated to make this fit. "

Yeah, looks like all you need to do is reclock the compressor housing and flip the bracket around like they said. Never heard anything like that about the bracket bolts. I've personally removed / replaced many of them without any issues.

Im running a 2871r that had the same issue, i had to flip and re-drill holes in the bracket to position my waste gate properly
