I know this may sound a bit pointless but does anyone how to cause compresser surge? Its only temporary as i know it is bad for the turbo but i just love that fluttering sound.I have a 1994 180sx sr20det with apexi filter and cat-back exhaust.I tried disconnecting the vac hose from the intake manifold to the stock bov in the smic but this resulted in a loss of power and it only surged low in the rev range<3000rpm and did not blow off anything above this.I am looking for surge at all rpm's.

for definition of ricer...... go here ------> http://pimprides.messedup.net/

listen to the guy who posted ahead of me..if he sais his bov flutters im sure he's not lying..you dont want to ruin your turbo and go through the money and trouble of putting another one on...plus trust me i know first hand..when i swapped my sr in i didnt even have a bov and i thought it was an awesome noise too..then when i put my RS bov on and heard it and actually had people turning there heads ( i say this because they couldnt even hear the "flutter" of running without a bov) then i realized how much nicer a bov was then not having one

That "flutter" sound you hear is your turbo chattering as it violently decelerates and accelerates as air back flows through it. A month or so of that and your turbo will need replacement.

I hope you have deep pockets, riceboy.

my stock recirc valve does a lot of fluttering. but it was really bad when i tried the bottom nipple on the throttle body as my vac/boost line. i took it off after a spin around the block though.
