Have an rb20 with modified stock exhaust mani (now externally gated), running a garret "super 60" turbo. . . Bought injectors, turned up the boost, and blew the turbo . It had been smoking a little before but now itsmokes like an effin chimney. Question: Whats a nice bolt on turbo (other than this one) that will work with the externally gated setup. Looking to spend upto 1500 bones. What else will i need (new down pipe, hot pipe etc.)?

My for sale link is below. . . if u wanted to view pics of current setup.

Thanks

Alot of guys go with the GT30R.

You could go with a HX35 or some other Holset, not quite sure about the sizes.MUCCCHHHH cheaper than a GT turbo. You would have to seal the Interal WG passage though.

You could go with a T3/T4 turbo, you can find one that will bolt up to all of your pipes. Not sure about the Hot pipe though depeneds on your setup.

But if you switch turbos, you will most likely have to modify your downpipe flange, your hotpipe and maybe some oil/water lines (don't think you would have to though).

The real question to answer your question is:

How much power do you want?

Hmmm. . . definitely would like to see 325-350 at the wheels. From what ive been told, that "super 60" on there now is a t3/t4 (idk jack bout turbos). Before she blew I had the greddy type s bc set to run around 20lbs, although i would see it often spike to 22-23 lbs. Thats probably a lil much for the stock rings and pistons (also considering the 550cc injs, and crappy safc tune) , but i was pretty satisfied w the power lol. Thanks for the input.
