these are the only two options that i found for a turbo kit for the s13. My questions:

1) has anybody had any experience with these turbo kits? (ie: has it installed on their car, or knows somebody that knows somebody that has it)

2) this is for turbo kits like "fmax, xs engineering, Greddy" and others. What would be needed to get those kits into an s13? i think that i heard that it had something to do with the s14's being OBDII cars, is that true? or not?

3) does anybody know about any other turbo kits being made for the s13?

thanks for the help my nico brothers!

Edit: if this has been asked before and/or this isnt the right place to put this, sorry never really asked performance questions before:)

im installing an IAP intercooler, manifold, and turbo lines this week. The intercooler core is made by the same place that makes RUF porche's cores. The manifold looks awsome and the people are pretty friendly. But the real test will be when i get it all working. Right now my car is missing an engine and transmission.~Sam

Hey downshift,

I, too, have been looking for a turbo kit for my '92 S13 and have been unable to find any. I am really curious to know if there any other kits out there for the S13.

When i asked one salesman whether, given the identical DOHC engines in both the S14 and later S13s, I could use an S14 kit in an S13, he said that it could be done with minor modifications, but he wasn't very reassuring.

I sent a list of 15 questions to NSport about their kit and got a response yesterday. If you send me your email, I'll forward you their response.

thanks alot! that has helped me out a bit. Your questions were very straight to the point. They only thing that i did not quite get is the answer to #11, do you know what they meant by "the "B" is more linear in power"? Does that mean that the powerband for the T04B-R is more smoother or something? If they get back to you with any dyno pages or any testimonials from their customers, it would be appreciated if you could also share those with me, for i need all the help i can get with this project. I'll be sure to post up any findings i have also.

I can tell you what I think he meant by "B": As you probably figured out, the "B" he is referring to is the T04B-R turbocharger that is the default unit in their Stage 1 package. I believe he is saying that the other turbocharger (T04-E) has more lag in spooling up and is more effective at higher rpms/higher HP range. Apparently, due to the lag, it brings HP more suddenly. My guess is that this is due to it being a slightly larger turbo; being larger and having a heavier turbine, it takes longer it to spool up but when it does, it has more high end HP.

The T04B-R, the "B", is more linear i.e. it has little to no lag and is more responsive. Being (my guess) a smaller turbocharger, it spools up faster, and produces equally more HP for more throttle input and boost (hence more linear output to input). Personally, I would prefer this one because the HP output is more timely and consistent with throttle input.

Perhaps others with experience could verify or confirm these theories.
