What in the world is a turbo dump pipe? I tried searching but I got no results for "turbo dump"... "dump pipe"... or "turbo dump pipe." I'm in the process of figuring out what turbo to use, either the TO4e or the sr T25. The manifold for the t25 from SSautochrome is $50 less without the turbo dump pipe, so if it's not really anything I need, it would be nice to save that $50. I like the t25 because it is quick spooling, and since I'm not looking for that much power and I plan to be at around 5-7PSI at all times, the t25 seems like a better choice(for my plans) than the to4e. Plus, I would have better aftermarket choices since the SR parts(downpipe, intake, etc...) are much easier to come by than if I went to4e.

So anyways, my main question is: what is a turbo dump pipe and what is its function? Is it a "must have" type thing, or can I put together my setup without it. Thanks for your help.

The dump pipe attaches to the back of the turbo and is a must have. Also known as the down pipe.

whoa... dump pipe is the same thing as downpipe? Why does this dump pipe look so small? Isn't the downpipe supposed to go all the way down to your cat?

the auction is for a turbo setup w/ an internal wastegate setup. the exhaust gases flow through that smaller tube once the wastegate opens. on a external wg setup (wastegate plumbed @ the manifold) the dump tube would be the pipe coming from the side of the wastegate

yeah... I'm looking at getting it for a stock SR T25 turbo for my KA-T plans. So I will still need a downpipe right? I plan on getting the Megan downpipe with high flow cat if I do indeed go with the T25 setup.
