i was searchin on greddy and some other websites, and most of em say KA(T) for 95-98. What difference is there between the S14 and S13 application of the turbo??all i found seem to be for the S14

anyone know where i can get a decent setup for a S13???

The MAF and ECU are different so some adjustments would need to be made. Also piping would be somewhat different depending on the kit. The manifold and turbo should work. Intercooler fitment may differ and in some cases, it might not fit at all(speculation - bigger intercoolers may be most likely to be problematic). With the Greddy Kit though, it comes without an I/C for the main kit, so you can add one of your choice and modify or add your own piping as necessary. You can reprogram the Emanage to accomadate the S13 application as well. Most kits can probably be adapted to work with an S13 with some modification. Bear in mind, you'll probably get little support for such a use of the kit from the manufacturer.

Only differences i can think of is the IC piping the DP and ECU. http://www.turbo-kits.com/240SX_turbo_kits.htmlIAP makes one. JGS too (site is down now).Check http://www.ka-t.org and their sponsors, you will find some answers there.

thanks ill check it out when it comes back on dunno when...the only thing im worried about is if my engine with 148+K miles can take a turbo or not, some people told me to boost at low psi, while others say a rebuild is a must unless u wanna be spittin rods and pistons left and right

If the engine has been taken care of and is right now in great mechanic condition, then it can hold good. Mine has 151k+ Although a rebuild will never hurt...

i dont really know how the previous owners have maintained this engine, so i dont know if it can withstand the pressure of a turbo installed, would a compression check be able to give me any idea if its still good to be turboed?i dont know of any other method that would be of any use

It should give you some degree of where you stand. It's also good to know regardless of whether you go turbo. You should check to see how much variance you have from cylinder to cylinder or if one cylinder has relatively low compression. I've seen people boost engines with over 150k with no problems. That's where a really good tune comes into play.

Since it would use emanage, the tune is about the same. It only corrects for airflow. Still, I would go with IAP and the emanage if I were buying a kit.

variance?im not that good with internal checks with the engine, how do i figure that out?where can i even get a damn compression check? what numbers should i be expecting for a decent engine?

I got my compression checker from Sears. IIRC, compression should be 180psi. The exact number is in the FSM. If you dont have one, download one NOW! available at http://www.zeroyon.com

FSM = factory service manual. Its what the techs at the dealership use as a guide. At some point, they got into pdf format, and from there have spread across the web.
