Hey there guys, I just test fit my Manifold with the turbo attached (didn't take pics, but you'll get the idea). I put it in and I literally have 1/32 of an inch of clearance between my strut tower and my turbo. I want to know if this is going to be dangerous to my suspension, or anything (will the engine movement hurt it?) Please let me know if I should be worried, or if my poundometer is going to meet the side of my strut tower for some clearance making?

I'm gonna bet your motor will move more than 1/32 inch under operating conditions...

you can try adding washers underneath the mount on the strut bar to raise it a bit and i've also seen people put a bit of a notch in the strut bar for more clearance. this may weaken the bar a bit but its better than no bar at all

I don't think you guys understand the placement, the turbo is going to be hitting like 8-10 inches below the STB, but I was thinking of tapping it with a lead hammer to give me some "wiggle" room. Will it hurt anything to dent the strut tower a little bit?

I'm going to buy a new digital camera in a few days and show you guys just how close I'm talking about, because boost infested, your clearance looks like the grand canyon compared to what I'm talking about, my turbo is 3-4 inches below the Brake Master Cylinder, and I basically touch the Strut tower about 6-8 inches below the brace. The question still remains, will it be damaging to my suspension to dent in the tower a little bit with a lead hammer?

Drift, I understand what you mean now. Youre running a bottom mount and the turbo is hitting the strut tower. When you said strut tower before, I heard STB.

I'm sure a little dent wont hurt. Doesnt this area tend to rust?? A dent cant be too if some cars have part of the tower rusted thru.

yea, sorry. i thought you were talking about strut bar clearance as well. thats why my response prolly seems a little awkward. not sure about denting in the strut tower a bit tho. probably wouldnt do any harm if you were careful and it wasnt too big but i would repaint any area that may have been scratched from the hammer

Hey there, I understand, I'm just glad you guys even bothered enough to write back, I will be denting in the Strut Tower and repainting with high temp to keep from damaging anything, I just wanted to make sure my car would not be affected. I appreciate the help, hopefully I'll be up and running in the next 2-3 weeks.
