i am not talking about the ca18det, but the jdm ca18de.

can anyone tell me the advantages and disadvatages of running a high compression turbo engine? and has anyone done this. I fried my original ca18det andam looking into some options and came across the na ca18de and a friend of mine told me its been done but if i go this route instead of waiting for another ca18det what are the problems i would run into. i will be changing the injectors, and swapping over everything.

Float_6969 on here is running a high compression CA. But he is doing it on a DET block and forged pistons. Big difference. DE block has crappy cast pistons, no oil piston squirters, no crank girdle...

Why not bore the DET block and get some oversized forged pistons? Also, I believe that you would have to drill and tap the DE block for an oil feed for the turbo.

DE block has a girdle. At least the JDm one does. I am not a dogmatic follower of piston oilers. I would prefer to use forgies and save the oil that would have shot out the squirters to keep the crank floating on the bearings.

i am running a JDM CA18DE block,

it DOES have the girdle, the rods are the same, no oil squirters, i am running DET pistons though, 300whp, no worries
