The stock T25 on my CA18DET failed so i decided to upgrade to a T3 turbo instead.

I can't weld so I'm getting the manifold and all the piping etc made at a shop in Barrie, ON.

I'm replacing the oil and coolant lines with AN fittings and braided steel lines.

The problem my builder has come up against is connecting the high pressure oil line to the block. Is 1/8th NPT the right size? who has replaced this and what did you use? The taper seems to be incorrect.Tried earls, aeroquip and the standard brass fittings..They all seem to WANT to fit but the taper on the standard 1/8th NPT starts too large to fit.

Please help

I ran into the same problem trying to T in my Oil pressure gauge. I ultimately (because I couldn't find an 1/8" BSPT fitting) got a 1/8" NPT Tap and enlarged the opening. It worked quite well. You'll have to flush it somehow though.

It makes a mess, but I used a magnet and stuck it in the whole and got as many metal shavings as I could that way then I left the place I tapped open and then cranked over the car a few times until oil came out if it. Then I took the magnet to it again. It made a big mess, but I don't think any metal shavings made it into the car. Any that did should have been caught by the oil filter.

They won't get caught in the filter on that side of the motor though.....

Never mind, find an 1/8" BSPT fitting...

Lube the tap (and drill if need be) with wheel bearing grease. The grease will catch most of the shavings.

same thing i did , just ran a 1/8th tap into the hole with grease on it. then maybe even a Qtip with brake cleaner on it to clean up the rest of the grease and shavings if there are any..

i have 1/8th NPT to 1/8th BSPT adapters in stock most of the time.
