Remove the boost controller completely and just run wastegate. 17psi is out of the turbos efficiency and definitly maxing your injectors out.

is the turbo on the s13 stock?

stock boost is 10psi.

the reading on the profec will be 100 for 10psi and 170 for 17psi, if you have it set to read in psi.

if you turn off the profec it should goto wastegate boost wich is 10psi.

if your turbo is not stock then ask the prev. owner.

it if is stock, you are way over boosting or you might have a bad boost gauge if the profec is reading correctly.

let me know if that helps.

You should remove (if not already) any after market and/or stock boost controller. Check all the vaccum lines. There should be 3 lines by the throttle body which go to the fuel pressure regulator, blow off valve, and the boost gauge. Also there is one vaccum line on the intercooler piping which goes to the waste gate. With that set up on a stock system you will get 7lbs. If you are boosting more than 7lbs then either the wastegate is stuck closed, the wastegate isn't getting a good boost source from the vaccum line, the turbo system is not stock (adjustable wastegate, bigger turbo, etc.), or your boost gauge is faulty. Don't drive on boost until you figure out the problem.

sounds like a bad wastegate. The wastegate should open at 7psi with no boost controller. Unless its aftermarket.

Definitly sounds like the wastegate line isnt hooked up right. Post a picture for us all so we can see its a vacuum line running directly from the Actuator to the Hotpipe.

Well you can also dyno that beezy, if you're getting more hp than a normal motor would (calculating in all of your mods) then its your wg, if you're not then its the boost gauge.
