I bought a uk x trail/ Rogue T32 and have taken it over to Spain as a holiday car . However I am getting turbo boost problems. It always starts and runs great. However its an auto. If I try and accelerate there is a long lag then it suddenly bursts into life and accelerates great. Sometimes the kick down works straight away, other times it doesn't. I can never tell or predict wether it will work or not. Every 3 or 4 hundred miles it will throw a red light code which is a turbo boost fault , just the one code. .I can just clear it with my obd reader and it stays off.
I have checked and cleared the turbo boost pipe that runs from the exhaust and changed the sensor at the end of it. I have changed the turbo pressure and boost sensors . Cleaned the MAF sensor. Without any luck.
The gearbox has been serviced, filters and oil and the gearbox is smooth and not jerky.
I have smoke tested it and cannot find any leaks.
I can see that the tubo actuator moves freely in and out. I have tried pinching the actuator vacuum pipe to see if it keeps a vacuum and it appears to. However I am thinking that this actuator might be failing or on its way out only working sporadically which is why I'm getting sporadic .Looks an awkward job to change it although the part is cheap.
Unfortunately being in Spain, I cannot find a local mechanic with good Nissan knowledge. Could anyone out there please advise me if they have had similar problems and how they were rectified.
I have recently found two other faults but I doubt they are linked to this problem. They are a leaking glow plug , diesel around it and a diesel leak at the top of the filter housing. ( I will sort both of these quickly on my next visit to Spain. )
Any advice, tips would be greatly appreciated.
