ok so i was driving my car around the block and i heard a pow...then a whole bunch of white smoke came out the back of the exhaust...so i barley made it home and the car was idling at less than 500 rpm. i took the turbo off and i am going to get it rebuilt...will a blown turbo cause my car to idle this low...and some time my car wont start till i tap the EGI relay with the key on engine off...then it will buzz and the i can start it...i changed the relay and samething...any clue? the turbos blown right?

Man sorry to hear your troubles so far...if I were you I'd be so discouraged and would have torched the car already lol.

Other than that I've driven cars with blown turbos before...actually the turbo that came with my motor was seized and car still drove perfectly...just drove weaker than an n/a motor of any car. I think a Metro could have beaten me going up a hill at that point.

You should look over your harness and see if there's any loose connections. Other than that...any weird noises out of your motor? Should do a warm compression test to see what the readings are.

Definitely. I would start with that and go from there.
