what is the difference between these 3 types.

1- wet floating bearings2- ball bearings3- ceramic bearings

also i own a turbo also known as a triple k made in china, cheap turbo but had it rebuilt by a professional because i was told the lifetime was very short because of the bearing type, "wet floating" now are they really a cheap turbo and bad bearings causing the short life or is it because they are only oil cooled?

when purchased it was called a super t70 but the pro. told me he doesnt understand why its called a t70 because there is nothing on the turbo associated with the number 70.

brings me to my main question, is it really called a triple k turbo and what are the specs and or short learning lesson about the turbo anyone could give?

shaft and wheel trim 64.5mmcompressor wheel 60.5mmturbine housing a/r .84compressor housing a/r ".70" supposidly?exhaust housing is a 3" v-band flange

thanks ka-t guys!!!

Journel Bearing/Bushing

Ball Bearing

Turbo Breakdown

The Ceramic Ball-Bearing concept that has essentially eliminated any concern of turbocharger durability in high performance applications. The heart of this concept is a NASA inspired angular ball-bearing fitted with almost indestructible ceramic balls. The thrust capacity of this design is rated at over 50 times greater than conventional turbocharger thrust bearings!

Now...will be nice to upgrade a "normal" turbo CHRA into a ball bearing one..

WHy not go ceramic, they last forever and spool quicker. Just aquire a Skyline T3 and use the center cartidge. I could get whole RB20's in Japan for $250, so a turbo should elcheapo.

But it can be retrofitted?

Maybe a bearing insert of some sort.

I believe Turbonetics is the only company that uses ceramic ball bearings as it is patented.

WDRacing is referring to ceramic turbine wheels not ceramic ball bearings on the RB turbos.
