I am upgrading from the gt2871r to something more powerful and can produce more power.... i was wanting to go with a top mount manifold not for sure if that is a requirement...... the motor is currently getting completely rebuilt and will hold the power. i'm wanting around 550hp along with the rebuild is cams / intake mani / already have tuned ecu with 72lb injectors and a z32 maf. can anyone guide me in turbo selection / manifold... anyone else already tried and problems you may have come across....any info will greatly be appreciated....anyone want a gt2871r???? j/k

thanks,Chris Overbaugh

Peak Boost/Full Race Manifold. Either of those are going to be top notch quality and flow. As far as the turbo goes. If you can swing it, I think you'd do good with the gt35r, or something a little less expensive is a Garrett t4/61. With the t4 you'd lose the ball bearings. And I believe the peak performance mani only comes with a t3 flange, so the t4 wouldn't work with that, but the full race you can choose which one you'd like.

Who makes full race? hahahaha. Full Race of course. I'm thinking you haven't heard of them? They make some of the nicest manifolds money can buy and create extraordinarly fast cars.

http://www.full-race.com "Where you can find their manifolds, and also sell both of those turbos"http://www.cheapturbo.com - This is where you can pick up the peakboost...its under the Nissan category

At 550whp lag is something you can't really be concerned with.

Go with the Full Race manifold, and I would suggest a GT3582R in a .63 A/R, and a ~40mm W/G, if you want to make the top end stronger go with the larger A/R.

If I were making the choice I would run the .82 A/R and work on other tuning aspects (such as cam timing) to gain spool-up.

Agreed.

You shouldn't be too concerned with lag on a 2ltr when your goals are over 200whp per ltr. You're going to have to build the bottom end if you want your car to survive at that power level so maybe invest in a Darton sleeve kit and run over bore to 2.2ltrs which will eliminate some of your lag issues.

transmission, not for long. If you're drag racing on slicks, not long at all. The R200 diff can handle more than the transmission, but again, drag launches on slicks with that kind of power will eventually kill it. Your best bet is to get the z32 transmission adapter kit and wait on your rear end. If it goes, either swap for another R200 or look into a z32 turbo rear.

consider an HKS stroker kit. 2.2 liters and and a overall lighter engine. With that power goal a stroker kit will make all your other mods more effective, and make 550hp easier to reach.
