damn something must be wrong because my Turbine is half a inch from my MC! i tried everything to split it up but it wont budge. i could not get my DP on because the MC was in the way. i took off my MC because its bad and im going to change it anyway but i have no idea how am i gonna put it back on. i have a rev hard manifold and a t3/t4 FYI. anyone have the same problem as me? i hope wrapping the turbine...downpipe..and MC will keep the heat well mantained..but what do you guys think? half a inch away from each other? is it doable?

Heres a pic of mine before I wrapped it:

You cant really see cause theres a shadow, but the forward-most hard brake line there comes within 1/2" or so from the downpipe itself. Look at the funky crap I had to pull with the downpipe angles... that was a real pain to get right...

This is doable, but heat was becoming a problem. I have since wrapped the pipe and the MC with heat wrap, and I would like to do a shield soon as well.

This is with the ETD manifold btw.

doable? why of course, it's really your only option, that's just where the turbo ends up on the KA. You just need some good heat sheilding and you wont have a problem.

hm fiz....

your turbo is a lot more foward then mines...mines is a lot more back...that DP bolt on top (close to the MC) is the one actually half an inch away from the MC.

nice job with the DP by the way, maybe i should do something like that

i forget is we talked about this or not, budy

you must not have an on-center turbo ( turbine inlet directly under the center of the turbo). seem you have a tangential turbo (exhuast inlet comes off the side of the turbo). the revhard manifold fits on-center turbos much better and was probabaly designed only for them.

Also, the MC in an automatic sticks out further (bigger booster).

you need some wrap, a heatshield, and some really expensive brake fluid.

Mine is less than half and inch...but with good heat shielding, it's survived +2 years of road course abuse with no melting.

No need to buy a new turbo, just an exhaust housing
