Setup AMS basic build 8.8 aries pistons, AMS rods, with ARP hardware, 91 cams, 95 intake minus butterfy valves, Zeitronix Wideband with boost gauge, SAFCII, JWT ECU 72lbs, Z32 MAF, T3/T40E .48/AR 50 trim, BRM 2.5 exhaust and no cat.

Running 93 octane gas what psi and AFR`s should I shoot for? Weather 90`s plus Alabama humidity:( From what I have been reading so far)

11.5 AFR`s20psi

I want to start tuning this week using my laptop connecting to Zeitronix wideband. So any info would be appreciated. Oh yea I finally got the dam thing running after breaking number 2 and 4 ring lands 3 weeks ago.

I am also thinking of throwing together a water/meth injection setup.

Aslong as you're tuning it with a wideband I'd tune it for 12.5:1 Bobby. Better gas mileage and more power. JWT is known for retarding alot of timing IIRC anyway.

If you have your timing set properly then running in the 12.s will be perfectly ok. Especially if you're going to run meth/water. Your EGT temps will drop a ton.

Right now I just want to tune it without and add the meth later. BTW I need to get with you on the meth injection setup. So without Meth right now will it work 12.5 AFR`s? Also how high on the boost?

Is there a way to monitor timing on a ODBI? The Butto meter tells me it is not pulling as hard as it did before the rebuild. I have set the timing and the AFR`s are not way off. I am wondering what is holding it back? I have the data logs and was wondering if someone would be interesting at looking at the data. The software is a free download from Zeitronix. Data recordedAFRTPSRPMBoost level

that turbo is gonna start to heat up and loose efficency at that boost. i would stick to about 15psi and some mid to high 11 afr's til u get the meth in

Is it because of the .48ar turbine ? I was thinking of getting upgrade to .63 ar turbine. Will that allow me to boost to 20 psi? Another thing I forgot to mention I don`t have a gasket between my turbo and manifold. I didn`t have one before and it pulled hard I am wondering if now I will have to do that as well?

Thanks for the input everybody. I think this will take some NICO help to figure this problem out.

a gasket between the manifold/turbo is very necessary...i suppose if both flange surfaces were freshly milled flat it would not leak much, but a gasket (metal w/ fire-ring) will guarantee a better seal and more potential boost...

I now have a usb cable connected to the CONSULT port. I got a few errors diagnostic mode Temp sensor the other knock sensor. Both cleared but I am going to check them again next few days and see if it shows up again.

When I am in boost and WOT the timing goes as low as 14 degrees. Does that sound right for my setup?

I guess I will throw that gasket on this weekend and see what it will do. It seems to have a time delay for a second or 2 when it reaches full boost and starts pulling hard.

iono about 20psi and 12.5 afr's on pump..yea it can be done but your room for error is very minimal at that point..id stick with the standard 11.5-11.9...sure youll lose a tad bit on the gas mileage side but when you dont pop a motor again youll be much happier..
