Hey there all... I have just a couple of questions in addition to what I have found already covered in the other threads. This thread : zerothread?id=118325in particular was helpful.

In any case it's fully built:

95 OBDII 240sx .030 bore, Ross 8.5:1 pistons, stock rods- micropolished crank, and turbo (ingalls) cams when I did the rebuild. It is equipped with the GReddy kit as well as the FMIC GReddy offers for the S14. In addition I have a SARD in tank fuel pump and 440 RC injectors that I Plan to install. Right now I am just running it at 8 lbs and have had no probs.

So my question is this, given that I don't want to go larger than my 440cc injectors,

a) What is a realistic peak HP goalb) For whatever that HP goal might be, should I use the emanage to get there (meaning investing in the timing harness, tuning tool, etc) or should I ditch the emanage on eBay and go with some sort of electronic boost controller and an enthalpy ecu (which I keep reading about on this forum- seems like people have an overall very positive opinion of it.) My goal is loosely to put down ~300 whp. I'll leave it up to your experience to tell me if that is realistic or not, with the parameters I've outlined.

Jon

to achieve 300whp to are going to need a new maf capable of flowing more air. you may go with a 96 300zx maf or perhaps q45. these maf are nearly double diameter. as for the e manage, i would stick with it becuase you can correct timing using the emanage. timing is something you might want to concider retarding if you go beyond 8psi. the tuned ecus will do this for you but there is a few month wait. imo, without modifiying your set up and sticking with the emanage you will get some were around 250 hp becuase the stock maf will limit you there. if you upgrade the the z32 maf you will make more. there is an injector spread sheat sticky also you might want to check out

check out the j30 MAF...it's the same as the Z32.....the last 3 numbers are N62

i found one for quite a bit cheaper than any Z32 MAF out there

The MAF is not an issue if you run the E-Manage with boost not MAF signal.

I just made 256hp with the E-Manage at 13psi the MAF runs max'd out after 8-9psi on my system. With some more tuning I'll get more power. but a MAF swap is not required.

If you have an E-01 for boost control you can tap the signal strait over to the E-manage and run from the same sensor. http://www.mohdparts.com/emanage <-- they have the cable to link the boost from one to the other.

One of the things I have been thinking of doing is running a JWT or EMP tune with the E-Mange to fine tune... This would make larger injecter a reality for the e-manage...

But take note that by the time you get an E-Manage w/ all harnus's + an E-01 and the EMP tune or JWT. it will cost more then a AEM.

I ran my stock maf to close to 400 to the wheels on a emanage.

I would assume then from what you are saying that to run the emanage off boost requires the E-01... without it I have no choice but to use the MAF signal?

Virus: since you have gone further than I even intend to go HP wise, what is your take on how to proceed?

you dont need to have the e-01 to tune with MAP, its just one way of doing so. check out the emanage forum on yahoo groups, i know they have info about using GM sensors with custom harnesses straight to the emanage. or you can go the more expensive route (still less then getting the e-01) and buy the sensor and harness that greddy makes

Only reason I said E-01 is he was talking about an EBC. It comes with the boost sensor, so you dont need to buy one for the e-manage too. it also tunes the e-manage so you dont need the software. Its not a bad price for what it replaces / does.

I got a good deal on a E-01 so i bought it, so thats whay Im using. I definatly recomend tuning with map instead of MAFS. Either get yourself an e-01 or one of the options that turboka37 mentioned. The e-01 really isnt necessary but I tune and datalog on it aswell so its a nice tool for me.

Oh and I think you can very easily do 300whp on an emanage. But if you are not into the whole tuning thing then get yourself a Entalphy ECU. I might even go with one on my SR20 and fine tune with my emanage since I already own it and dont feel like selling it.

if you do end up going with the e-01, hit me up at [email protected]. ive had mine sitting around in the box for months now. if i do go turbo it wont be for awhile since ive been screwed by online stores and i just recently had an accident in the 240 so all my funds are going to be on repairing the car and once that is done i will go off to college. so if your interested let me know. never used btw
