I"m getting ready to tune my car, before I started it , I would like your input and comment how to tune a car

The monitor device I have:

1. Wideband O22. EGT 3. Knock 4. Boost gauge

The tunning device I have 1. E-manage 2. Blitz SBC Boost Controller

First of all,I know I should get the A/F at 11.7 when I hit boost , then retard the timing .5 degree every 1 psi increase? after I get the A/F right, should I advance the timing? If so, how much timing I can advance ? I will use the E-manage Sub-Injector as a Water-injection Control, I will wire the sub-injector wire in to the h2oinjection control valve, what vaule I should input to the map ? 100% because I just want it on or off , not pluse? I would like to know how the additional injection map works? when the E-manage sending signal to the injector, wouldn't that mess up the ECU signal? please explain what does it really do? once I got the 300ZX MAF working with the boost sensor, which device I should base on while tuning my car ? I believe the MAF refer to the A/F Map and the e-manage Boost sensor is for the additional fuel map? I read an article before about a turbo rally car, they tuned to running very rich at low rpm to cause the engine produce alot of smoke to help the turbo spool up? what do u think of that? How much boost a 300ZX TT MAF can handle?

My setup:

Wiesco 9:1 Forged pistonARP studsGarrett T3/T4E-manage w/ ignition/inj harness DIY Boost Sensor for the E-manage (2 bar , more resoultion then the E-manage one)550cc sidefeed rx7 injectorsEGT GaugeKnock Monitor300ZX MAFFMIC

Thank you!

Hmm... I know nothing about adding extra injectors with the e-manage...

BUT!

The Boost (Pressure) sensor is for when you are out of range of your MAF. You plug it in. Set your fuel map to use Boost based fuel and it works 100x better for tuning. (At least i think so) I could never get my #'s to hold right when I was on MAF tuning.

Ohh and I'm running -6 timing at 10-12psi and I advanced my off boost to +2 +3 in spots. Has not went boom yet and I have been doing this a year. (so it works i guess :P)

Thanx Red-KAT , so you just eft the A/F map blank and tune the additional injection map? is that correct?

yes, leave the airflow meter map alone and tune using the injector correction map and ingnition map both based off boost pressure and not maf voltage.(since you have a pressure sensor, its better and easier)

I have almost the EXACT same setup, except with stock MAF. I made several posts on tuning with emanage back in Aug/Sept 04, just search for posts with my screename,

Start out very conservative & go no more than 20% throttle, tune for that.

Then inch up a little, maybe take it up to 40% throttle, then 60%, then 80%, then WOT.

For those of you have a E-manage, would you use the MAF to tune over 20psi ? or rather use a boost sensor? when is the 300ZX max out at?

I prefer the boost sensor, eliminated haveing to find a z32 mafs and you can tune based on boost . ive been post whoreing all day bored at work, read the various other posts around.
