Ive got a couple of choices to make about how I want to go about tuning my car, but since i've never messed with tuning before I decided to post here 1st to get everyones opinions...I recently bought a turbo kit... came with manifold, ca 370 injectors, t3 super 60, oil drain and feed kit, and a mbc. the motor is the SOHC so I have 4 options that I can think of....

1) JWT ecu $5002)resistors and SAFC $3003)8:1 rising rate fpr $150-2504)chipped SOHC ecu runing live edit or rom editor ecu=$40 chip burner =$85

I only plan to start with 5-7 pounds of boost so a walbro pump is already in the works.... my only problem is what to use to tune with... I really want to do the SOHC ecu "stand alone" but Ive never tuned a car at all... also one last question, how can I tell what the internal wastegate is set to? does anyone know someone who lives near st.louis that could help me tune if I go the ecu or safc route? thanks alot

If you only plan to boost 5-7psi just run it off the wastegate. its probably around that area whatever you have...and also if you plan to go the safc route..tune it yourself with an 02 wideband so you dont have to go back to the dyno when you upgrade

those options that u listed really depend on ur budget and what u feel comfortable with. all of them can get the job done. i went with the safc and injectors route. u will need a wideband or dyno time to tune them tho so if u dont have access to a wideband from a friend or local nico member, u may want to tack on some more to the cost of the safc option.

A buddy of mine said that he could tune the SAFC with a wideband for me, he works at a import shop and said he tuned his integra using teh safc.. My only problem with the safc is wiring the resistors for the ca injectors... thanks

well if u can get the safc tuned, go that route as it tends to be the most cost effective and customizable. as for the wiring of the resistors, i wish i could help ya out but i got side feed ones so they dropped right in. run a search on nico, FA, and even ka-t.org If nothing comes up that proves to be what ur looking for, start a new thread concering the wiring of those specific injectors and resistors for ur fuel rail.
