Ok so obviously its been a while since I've used excel cause I can't figure this out. Ive been worling on my ignition and fuel maps in excel and I can't figure out how to add a number to a selected area. For example, say I select a whole row and want to add 1 to every number in the row, what do I need to do? Its taking me forever to edit these cell by cell. All help is appreciated.Brandon

you could select the row and create a formula to +1 to the selection. You could then assign that to a macro maybe. I haven't tried this but it should work.

I don't think you can just add 1 to each cell by putting +1 in the formula and copying. You have to create another column and put "=(cell you want to add 1 to)+1" hit enter. Or you could put "1" in a separate cell and go to each cell with a value and enter "=(cell with the value already in it)+(cell with the 1 you just typed in)" hit F4 to make it reference that cell only.

Then, move your cursor to the lower right corner of the highlighted cell until it turns to a plus, then double click. It will fill down until there are no more cells for it to reference from.

If this isn't what you are looking for, I don't know any other way than to manually enter the values. Somebody might be a pro at excel and could provide some input.

i went and played around with it and it seems the best way is kinda like how darius said it except a little simpler.

so you have your original columns and rows, ex 12 x 12 (A-L, 1-12)

now go to cell A14 and enter the formula =SUM(A1+1)So say you had 20 in A1, you now have 21 in the beginning of your new table

Now select that cell and drag the bottom right hand corner to the right until you get to L14 (the end of our table)

Then select the bottom right corner again and drag it down to L26 thus giving you a new table.

it sounds kinda complicated but once you get it, it doesn't take long to do.

EDIT: darius' way would work best if you were to make multiple changes such as +1, then maybe +2 you would change only the seperate cell and refresh the current table. mine is more of a one time deal
