Alright well Ive put a little over 100 turbo miles on my 240. Its a whole new experience for me and I have a few questions about things. First of all I really want to get it tuned on a dyno soon, but cant find anyone who can help me out. I tried to contact a guy from Racing Innovations here near Knoxville, TN and he was too busy...blah blah blah. Im running a Profec e01 and emanage and dont know what sort of adjustments I can make for things to run better. One thing that has really been bothering me is the time before the turbo spools up. It takes me till about 3500-4000 before i build up enough to go. If im not going around this speed driving is sluggish and worse than when i was n/a. I also have base timing at 15. Right now I have my Set at 0...should I make that higher? Well a big thanks to anyone who can help me out.

Oh yea its a Greddy turbo kit, fmic, walbro pump, ngk 7EIX and Im ~8psi

Is the base timing supposed to be at 15 with you kit? I'd move it back to 20 since your only running 8 psi. that will improve alot of off boost driving and possibly your lag.

What turbo are you using?

Here's some shops in your area, KLR on Broadway and Speedwerkz. Try them out.

its a Mitsubishi TD06S 20G 8cm2.

I was told to retard timing for safety reasons, i assume against detonation. Alright and thanks for those stores, hopefully someone can help me on the dyno soon.

Im pretty sure the emange will pull timing for you, they are preprogrammed with the greddy kits. It's not the best tune but it'll work just fine and its safe. Put you timing back to 20 btdc

Yeah, if the Emanage came preprogrammed with timing retard then your WAY to retarded...LOL...joking. Put the timing back to 20. Assuming they went the safe route, your probably losing 1 degree of timing per lb of boost, plus the initial 5 degree retard you added. Your lag will go away as well as your off boostd driving.

I have never seen the Greddy kit. Do they have the optional ignition harness for the Emanage with the kit? If not, then the emanage is only altering the MAF voltage.

well I bought the ignition harness seperately when i got the profec e01 and pressure sensor harness.

Well I figured it might have to do with my timing being screwed up. I just didnt want to hear anything go boom =).

is your base timing at your distributer set to 15 degrees?

If so, then set that back to stock.

Use the timing map to retard timing when your in boost.

You should really learn and grasp the idea of tuning and screw the greddy maps or a dyno and tune it yourself. I use the emanage with the pressure sensor and the rest of the options and its a really nice management system, lots of people dont know how to use it and its shame.

On a side note I hit 200 post so i have cams now

Yea it looks like im going to have to learn it myself. I tried calling both of those places...the response i got was there was no one who does it around here anymore.

Installing everything was fine, but I just dont know enough about what maps to change and not screw things up. and Id need to be on a dyno to get everything set right.

You can tune your car fairly accurately without a dyno. Just invest in a wideband and find a nice stretch of road to do some runs on.

The Greddy kit comes set to 6psi with no timing retard...

I would not pull your base timing becuse it will make your car **** on the low end.. hell I add up to +3 off boost and -6 at 10-12 psi.

If you want your turbo to get moving set the E-01 to start boost at 6psi... You can even set it for 8psi mine never overshot when set for the same as I boost... I can set mine to 10psi right now and it wont over shoot... (Do this at your own risk I dont want blame for your engine going bad)

Btw if you run a full 3" with the Greddy kit be ready to port your wastegate... I still needa do that... (ugg)

And get the wire that sends the boost info from the E-01 to the E-Manage and change your maps to pressure (way better tuning I think)

I'm going to change to the aem once my return comes in. The e-manage is ok but I want better control... (and it makes me mad that Ivan made like 340hp at 10psi and I almost made 190hp at 8psi...) Grr so mad! Good thing I just got another raise!
