On my pistons, as many have stated, SOME of the damage was from detonation, BUT some was still from the machine shop screw up.

So, to prevent this from happening again, i plan to not exeed 20psi, on my 444cc injectors, i have an aeromotive FPR on the way, so i will have the ability to adjust my pressure now.

My main question is, how much fuel pressure should i set it at to be safe on 20psi, and if i ran race gas, how much boost do you think i could run and should i up the pressure on race gas.

Also, i planned to get 870cc injectors that i found for cheap, but i was told that you could not use an eprom to tune those, which i do not have the funds to get nistune, or power fc at this time, so i will have to stay with eprom for the time being.

Dee, i would like you to tell me what you think of this and what you think i could/should do about the eprom and injector situation, or if anyone on here could burn a chip for bigger injectors or has any suggestion on what i should do until i get the funds to do the tuning software/ecu.

Thank you. and please i know i have learned my lesson, so please dont bash or rub it in, i'm already in the worst mood possible.

as I have stated in the past, those 440's should be seeing like 60 psi base pressure (vacuum line pulled off regulator) if your going to insist on running 20psi boost pressure.

even then, I would not with your large top mount turbo.

i know you are supposed to pull the vac line to adjust it, but are you saying leave it off?

Im sure this has been covered before here... because Im not going to search for you and relay back the info,

Ill have an IIRC

base fuel pressure is set at idle to 36psi with the vacuum connection removed from the regulator.

If you want to run 20psi on that turbo you are going to need to man up and buy some bigger fuel injectors. End of story. I would suggest somewhere in the range of 800cc.

With your 444s I would be running like, 14psi MAX.

Seriously, I thought people knew this crap.

I mean, in regard to your last thread, I have rebuilt the bottom end of my motor drunk, balanced nothing, thrown the rings on, un-gapped. Hell, I didn't even measure the bearings, I just threw some STD size Clevite 77s on there. To hell with Nissan graded bearings.

Long story short I got something like 45,000 miles of downright ABUSE out of it. It was looking a little shabby when I pulled it apart over Christmas, but that was the fault of foreign debris. It never knocked or smoked ran poorly or anything.

ok, i do want to get bigger injectors.

but how can i tune it via eprom for now, basically just to get it running right with 800cc+ injectors.

say i got the injectors, and put them in, how can i get a chip burnt to make it run with those injectors? for the time being while i wait to get funds for PFC or nistune?

Go to radio shack, spend $24 or whatever and make your own board so you can burn chips. There is a writeup somewhere on here. Then make your own chip. Sorry I can't help more than that, but Ive never done it.

hey let me know if you want some tuning, we are now a nistune tuner, plus we have all the equipment to tune CA's again. We use a Dyno Dynamics loading dyno. Also might check out a Mega Squirt setup, its what im running. It was a PITA at first, but now its great runs better then the stock crap with less crap to go bad.

i need tuning asap.

i think i saw your car drifting up at kilkare.

do you guys do any work with eproms? basically to get me a base tune thats better than my generic chip tune?

I have heard of you guys and know where your located.

I would like to do nistune or mega squirt, but megasquirt is such a PITA to set up.

how much did your megasquirt cost you to put together? and whts your dyno tuning hourly rate, i would like a quote.
