Ok so i got a chip tune for my 750's just to make it run on them, and it is SOOO rich, looks like a diesel. it runs fine, but breaks up a bit an s***s a ton of smoke, i need/want a tuning program.

i am torn on nistune, most likely will go that route since i have the wideband now, and it has an input.

but i was wondering your thoughts on other standalones such as e-manage and haltec and things like that.

Bottom line is this, if you have the desire to have big injectors, big turbos, and all the other fancy whistles that's associated with big power, forget about budget tuning. You can buy all the chips you want, but if you're not the one burning these chips and have some knowledge of what you're doing, it's hit or miss. And what comes with hit or misses "COMPLAINTS". You guys may think I'm a hard-@ss when it comes to this subject, but how many of you are listening as well? If you want advice, yet still be hard-headed, don't complain; at least not in here.

Upgraded injectors are the ultimate reason most of you guys are "Running too rich". You can't throw 444cc injectors on the stock computer and expect it to act like stock. But more to you KEMP, I don't know much about nistune, so I can't say much towards in a positive or negative manner. But what I can say is, there are more CA owners that have ultimately crashed and burned because they couldn't get their cars to run right. Being able to tune a system or component is one thing, but knowing the engine you're tuning is a whole different ball game, so you've got a dilemma.

You'll have to determine what type of engine management is right for you because only you know your financial situation and your immediate performance desires. I've done my share of chipped ecus and openly discharged/dismissed them from my Nissan vehicles "Point Blank". But then again, my financial situation allows me to do what I want with my cars, but personal time limits me from completing any project I have hence the reason you won't be seeing my cars on a video anytime soon, but trust me they run and run hard with 750cc-1000cc injectors respectively.

Nistune. Do it. Especially if you're cheap and are planning on sticking with a MAF. They even provide this handy-dandy guide: http://www.plmsdevelopments.co...s.pdf

As to your rich condition, the chip was probably made by adjusting the K constant (injector constant) by the percentage increase in size from stock injectors to the 750s. This gets you close but unfortunately there is no true hard and fast rule for tuning injectors as each setup is different and the only way to get your K dead on is with a wideband. You also gotta consider your latency or void time, it's an offset the ECU uses to compensate for the amount of time it takes for the injectors to fully open and fully close and bigger injectors take longer to do both.

Kemp, we are taking a car to the dyno on monday we are tuning it with nisstune, ill let you know how it turns out. should work out well. Joel was doing some prep tuning last night to get it ready for the dyno.

Kemp also have the luxury of being 30-40mins from us so if he ever needs to get a tweak or change somthing hes not waiting and guessing with his chip tune. better then a mail order tune.
