Guys , if anyone ever asks you to change the plugs on a 4.9 caddy , just tell them to go away , just spent the last 3 hours changeing them , the basutrds at caddy decided to lay rear bank of cylanders against the firewall (4 inches of clearance), man did this suck but i must have picked up at least 10hp out of it , the plugs had .60 gap in them , i guess if there not changed for 115000 miles they tend to do that ..

anyway , just wanted to say something , ive been kinda quiet lately , so much to do down here in florida

cant wait to get another 4cyl nissan , this caddy thing is DEFINETALY temporary , im getting jelous of all these kids and there good handeling cars

It aint easy, especially when the engine bay is cramped. I helped a buddy change his spark plugs from the Impreza Club and we had to disconnect some major parts of the engine to get to them. Then when you get to them, you have to have a very small ratchet wrench to get them out.

I preferred changing the sparkplugs in my 5.0 (305ci) Caprice. Nice and easy.

loltook me almost 2 hours to get them out of my subby. I came out with bloody knuckles and bruised forearms. I'll take it to the shop next time.

My sister's Legacy wasn't that bad, maybe in the early 90s cars were just built to be easier to work on, but I just needed one really long extension and some dexterity.

On the WRX, the left hand side of the engine pay is a beotch to try and pull the plugs. Part of the body paneling gets in the way of getting your ratchet down into the engine bay. The left side isnt too bad. You just have to remove the air box.
