i have been trying to get together a kind of plan of action for the buildup of my car....but i am stuck at the first part. My car has 209k miles on it.....now here is the tough part....would it be smart to do a full tune up and have the engine running back to stock form before i plan on a building up for a turbo or just get a lower milage ka engine and m/t swap then start from there. My problem is that i have a automatic so that is why i was considering those options. Any input would be appreciated.:D

EDIT: oh and for those people who love sr's or just like to come in and tell me to get one.....i would not appreciate that because i would rather drag than drift and i hear that ka-t is the way to go in that department, but do as you wish

how bout a manual transmission and a rebuild?

if you rebuild with rods and pistons, it will be stronger than any junkyard motor you might get.

8.5-9:1 compression pistons, and rods.

oh....so it would be a good idea to just keep the engine and rebuild it and just swap the automatic for a manual transmission. I thought about that, but i am planning on rebuildin the engine in the future anyway....i was just wondering if it would be smarter to rebuild a lower milage engine.
