I dont know if anyone saw this on SpeedVision, but they took an 89 240 coupe and did an SR swap, Silvia front end conversion, widebody kit, r32 brakes, coilovers, rims, carbon fibre hood and a big aluminum/carbon fibre wing. Anyway they didnt talk about the brakes, the FMIC, the exhaust, OR THE SWAP!!! All they talked about was how it was gonna be an awesome drift car, and they didnt even show it driving afterwards! They talked about the widbody kit fitment for like 15 mins, what a waste of time. I would much rather hear about the performance upgrades more than how they had to sand and make brackets to make it fit. They didnt even mention they did a Silvia front end convo, it just happened. I taped it, so if anyone wants to laugh at these retards talk about their "drift car" that is never even seen running, you can borrow it. I want the 30 minutes of my life back!!

I was not pleased with the show. When they're asked to put together a show with mass market appeal, that's the result. Not a whole lot of substance, but plenty of talk about widebody this, JDM that.....

.. then the end of the show, and no driving impression, just a guy sitting in his car ?? WTF is that crap!

It's just another show to get more and more young people thinking it's ok to put that crap on their commuter.

Long live the beauty of Original Equipment!

Did you guys see the RX8 one? That was horrid. They took a stock RX8, put some 18" wheels on it, painted the calipers red to match the car, gave it some gay vinyl graphics, and a bottle of nos. Compared to the RX8, that 240 got the hook up. Those guys on that show are gay anyways.

what a waste. give some boy-racer a bunch of parts, and call it a "drift car". i'd love to see him drift that car with 265 rear tires on it with a pretty much stock SR in it.

The car turned out great but I hate how scripted the show was. "What's an SR20DET" God this show is dumb. I really hate that stupid hippie fag with long hair. I just wanna chocke him with his own hair. (Not really but it would fun to see)

Yeah the "Engine Performance Specialist" was like you are going to take out the truck motor and put in this other motor. Then the other guys were like It's a turbo motor SR20DET . Ahhh I almost screamed at the TV when he said that. Some specialist he is. lol...

Just saw it on Tivo. No details just a bunch of fluff. I am so disappointed. Didn`t care for the rear wing. what the hell was wrong with that kid?? I would have been more appreciated about the transformation then he was. Crap I wonder how much that would have cost? Just guessing 15,000.00?

They also did the 5 lug conversion. I thought the show was going to be alot more technical, The conversion could not have been as easy as they made it seem. The sohc ka to sr20det swap involves alot of work with the power steering and AC. They made it sounds like a drop in. The show seemed to focus on mostly looks though. The car did look like something out of an Option video (which is not a bad thing). Very disapointed that they didn't even show the thing run after they were done, The guy wouldn't even rev the engine when he first started it.

an idea - how 'bout we email them and give them some positive criticism (i.e: they should move their show to spike and place after the fag5 - j/k). but seriously tho, if they're gonna put-on show that's about stuff, atleast make it informative and worth our while...maybe bite-off some stuff that is happening from other car shows.(2¢)

i really wanted to see the kid attempt to drive it after the 'transformation' was done. I bet it didnt even run or something, thats probably why the show lacks driving footage

The car ran (or at least it revved). Maby we should send this whole thread to the show and see what they think. I'll bet the owner of the car (orthe magazine he works for) is probably sponsoring the show somehow. They probably bought the car just for the show. Notice they didn't ask how long he has had it. They also never showed the interior. One shot was with the kid sitting in it and you could see the stock seats still intact. He should be prepared to be ejected out the window if does some serious "drifting".
