The kid saved up his money and finally got his tune done on the dyno!

History: Bought car with
95 240sx
S15 SR20DET
6 speed transmission
He has installed so far:
Nistune tunable computer setup
Z32 maf
J30 Dif
Sub frame bushings
Radio
Fixed leaking sunroof
New tires
Installed Just before the tune
Tomei 260 cams
750 cc injectors
Walboro 255 fuel pump

Tuning was done at Whites Automotive Imports in Rockledge FL. Everything went well at the tuning session. 2 issues they found doing the dyno. Exhaust leak at the down pipe connecting to the exhaust. Seems to be just a gasket. The other is that the factory O2 sensor is not working. They unplugged and we will get a new one, wants us to make sure it is reading correctly before replugging back into the computer. Says with it reading incorrectly that it messes up the tune.

He tuned and did initial dyno pulls at Alex's 13lbs boost set by his AEM Tru-boost. Gary set all parameters to better mixtures and timing. Pulled 284hp and 274torque. The dyno read it was putting out 14-15 lbs boost average. Also pulled on the factory settings at 7lbs boost. It pulled 228hp. The dyno pull prior to all the upgrades with the same 13lbs boost pulled 245hp adn 244 torque. Car ran 13.6 at 107mph with a 2.5 60 ft. Did not get to the track last night because of

Cool thing is any drive ability issues we can tell Gary and he can adjust the program e-mail and we can up load with computer. Thats kewl!

Didn't make it to the track last night because of rain. Next week he says.

Car starts up smoothly and purrs. No rich smells anymore! Has a little more choppy idle and exhaust sound is deeper. As we say the smile is the gauge and he is smiling, just a little lighter in the check book! All on McDonalds pay. Thats a lot of burger flippin.

Set up with a safe tune very driveable. Run on pump gas. Has a/c.

Next steps:
Suspension (running on stock with cut springs)
Paint job

As soon as a student working at McDonalds can save some money.!

Did you use the PD-SS for the speedo or do you use an electronic pick up? I ask because I seem to remember the S15 trans not having a VSS, and I recall using the ABS speed sensor on the PD as an alternative.

Car looks good dude. Spaced out SE-R wheels actually look pretty nice.

Yeah OUTTOWIN. we chatted last year. Ended up getting a J30 dif with the ABS sensor in it. Wired in the Digital Dakota to translate to the speedo the correct mileage. Got it withing 2 miles per hour at 70mph. Good enough to use and keep the kid out of trouble. Which 3 gears gets him in trouble on any state road in america so............

He has a friend with a GTI 2011 with stage 3 upgraded wam bam turbo kit thingy that put 311 HP at 24lbs of boost. With Alex being a little dumb with his buddy out cruising the streets late at night chasing each other up in the mid 100's , 6800rpm in sixth gear. But when we hooked up the speedo it cut him off at 128mph or 6200rpm. Still too much.

Kid wants to beat his friends HP but be smart. We are stepping up in small increments. On the dyno he had a small exhaust leak on the down pipe to the exhaust and the factory O2 sensor was not ready correctly (RICH) kept messing with the logger and all parameters on the NISTUNE. We unplugged and did not re-plug until we replace.

We are going to fix those this week and then start creeping up the boost to see if we can get 320hp out of 16-17 lbs of boost.
