I have had the M35 for about four years now and I haven't gotten a tune up since I bough it. I have put about 45k on it since then. I feel as my MPG is terrible. The status shows it at 16.4, but that has never changed. Will a tune up increase that and how much do people usually pay for one? Thanks.

how many miles do you have on it now? Air filter replacement? spark plugs? do you feel your car misfires or anything like that? may need to replace the plugs - those are cheap repairs

131k. Yeah, I need to replace all of those. No misfires. Car has always run very good. Just the MPG is really bad.

The plugs will help with mpg, transmission service for smoother shifting and fuel injector service, etc. on am M35 you should be getting closer to 20mpg city/Hwy combo driving! :gotme

Just had dealer do trans fluid replacement, radiator flush, cabin filter and air filters for about $550. It was the only time Ive let a dealer touch my car (83K) for routine service. Dealer said spark plugs need to be changed at 100K.

I try to stay away from the stealers as much as I can.

I just got an oil & filter change, radiator & rear diff was flushed by machine. All for about $140.

I had to buy a qt. of matic S at the Nissan stealer for $13 (rip off) to top of my trans which doesn't need to be changed for another 10k miles.

I was able to order both drive belts (Goodyear Gatorbacks) for about $40 with shipping.

As soon as I get both belts I'll have them installed and will be finished with the maintenance at a price of less than $250

Absolutely replace the spark plugs. I've never seen a VQ35DE that didn't benefit from new ones even after only 30K miles (stock tune)

Nissan says that the OEM plugs are good till 100K and if you haven't replaced them then I'd venture to bet that they're still the factory plugs.. swap them out asap

As others have stated, stay away from the stealership...save yourself the cash and set aside a little time to knock it out. Most of the maintenance is easier than it may seem.
