You're going to get ripped everywhere until you use some basic terms and know what they mean.
For example, what exactly do you mean by a tune up? What is included?
This mystery term of tune up that people use is a giant gray area that when referred to about modern vehicles causes your wallet to empty itself to the perple performing service and make you look like you haven't a clue about a vehicle. If you really don't that's ok too. Not everyone does.
It used to be that a "tune up" could generally be counted on to refer to stuff like fluid top off, points, plugs & the timing set. Maybe even valves adjusted. Now use of that term is akin to asking the Wal-Mart clerk where the 8-track tapes are.
Do you actually know what your car needs for a "tune up"? How many miles?
$290 is ok for all plugs replaced, all belts/radiator hoses replaced, clean the TB & IAC, oil & filter, antifreeze flush, transmission service, brake fluid flush, alignment, plus wash & wax. In fact, it's great!
Do some work young Grasshopper. Read the service interval part of your owner's manual and come back with some real questions about what you should and should not get done.
