Hi guys

I am new to the site and recently bought a 1997.5 j30t with 64,000 miles on it.I want to let you guys know that this web site rocks and has saved much time and many headaches already.

I have had the car for a month and have flushed the transmission out(drain and fill 4 times) and cleaned the throttle body's on the car. I am planning on changing the fuel filter and the spark plugs(NGK laser platinum) this weekend as well as changing out the PCV valve and the rear differential fluid.

I have two questions for your guys. I think i have located the PCV valve, but am not positive. I see what looks to be the PCV under the intake plenium on each side of the motor. Is this correct?

With the spark plugs. I got the NGK laser platinum's(OEM) like many of you talk about doing. I also saw that Advanced Auto Parts sells the Iridium tip versions of the plugs. Both are listed as OEM type on there web site and look to be just like the regular platinum tipped . Has any body used these plugs? Any ill effects?

I know that Iridium tip are supposed to be 6 times harder and last longer. This could be an advantage with a car with coil over ignition(very hard on spark plugs).

Any information would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to nico.

I used the NGK iridium tipped plugs. The are amazing plugs - and I don't see any ill-affect. I however don't drive my J30 very much. But after changing the plugs, the car pulls a lot better.
