Hey guys,

I'm planning on doing a tune-up in a few weeks and wonder what it should include. My ride is a 02 Nissan pathfinder and has about 174k.

Following this im gonaa do- -Changing Spark plugs(Do I have to change the coils and wires to:confused)-Air filter( I change mine every other oil change)-Maybe transmission oil change( doesnt smell but put about 20k+ on it.

Is there a way to clean out the injectors & am I missing out on anything .Btw What brand of spark plugs should I use.

Thanks in advance,John

I highly recommend you use NGK spark plugs.

I haven't discussed this specifically about the Pathy/Q, but with my Maxima (also a coil-on-plug) I have talked with a couple of Nissan Techs. They have told me that some other brands of spark plugs don't work well with the coil packs and over time can cause them to misfire. One guy told me over 1/2 of the Maxima he had with coil pack problems had Bosch spark plugs in them.

He also said in my Maxima, that I could use either platinum or copper, as long as they were the same heat range. I would just have to change the copper more often. Quite a few people in the Maxima community (especially VE30DE engines) do this. I don't know if I would in a Pathy/Q, just because the spark plugs are a lot harder to change.

As for your tune up, I would also check the condition of your belts.

I'd change the fuel filter too.

AND +1 on the NGK plugs.

Is it easy to change the fuel filter.
