I have an '05 Altima SER VQ35DE. Clean CAI and Mass AFS regularly, changed Manual Tranny Fluid to Royal Purple, use Royal Purple 10w30. Over time have had to have Clutch Master Cylinder Replaced, tires, and Tranny under warranty.

Currently the car seems to lack power and have noticed idles slightly lower than usual. Dealer stating need to adjust my base idle, if so anyone know how? Any other quick DIY power restoring tips?

The car also trembles during braking softly/slowly from speeds over 40mph?

Has anyone had issues/concern with their Altima SER or know of recalls being issued?

Thanks in Advance,

Steve

Everything you wanted to know about idle and were afraid to ask:

Yes, it's for a 2002, but should be the same. Make sure you are in the VQ section.

How many miles? Some BG44K would be good to clean the injectors.

You could do that. It would go through a relearning process.

Octane boosters [as a group] are the worst additive one could use because they contains oganometallic compounds which can build up deposits.

Techron and stronger BG44k contain no metals and will flush these deposits away.

Always good to alternate fuel additives to repair problems others create.

Pull the plugs and examine.
