Anyone have any experience with this:

http://item.express.ebay.com/_...sItem

I mean, for the price, as long as it bolts up, i can weld some bracing on it to make it stronger. Anyone have any thoughts? Is it as crappy as SSAutochrome i hear so many bad things about?

Hehe looks like the one i got from Australia!

Doesnt sound like a bad idea. Once you get it and see that the welds need reinforcing, it should work fine after you do. As long as the pipes aren't bent in the wrong direction and hitting anything like cam covers, etc. you should be ok. I have yet to install mine but i hear from other board members that they've had theirs on for quite awhile and have had zero problems.

Yeah, i started to look at those from Austrailia, Flying Turbo i think they are called. Didnt mind the sub $300 price, but shipping was over $150 to the states, FORGET IT!! Ive heard nothing but nightmares about SSAC stuff, but a guy i work with said he had one of their turbo manifolds for an old Mazda he had, and it worked great after he reinforced it. So i figure, for $110 shipped, i should be able to reinforce it and have usuable tubular exhaust manifold for cheap.

I'd honestly start fabbing manifolds if I thought there was a large enough market for them, and had a test fit car. Unfortunately CA owners are notoriously cheap, and probably aren't going to swing for a good manifold in the $300-350 range as long as there's ssac for $100, and I can't really build 'em for less...

Please do. Have him reinforce the design...maybe add a support bracket or something. If you can locate pics of the same style manifold but cracked you can show your welder friend where they break.

yeah thats a nice manifold, looks exactly like my ssac. just wanted to mention that that manifold-turbo gasket sucks ***. one morning i heard this exhaust leak from under the hood. it just got louder and louder. i reached down to see if the nuts came loose and i got cut by a piece of that gasket. i blew out the gasket because its made of three layers, its that fiber paper gasket sandwhiched in between to very very thing pieces of stainless steel. they arent ment to handle that kind of pressure.eventually the nuts came loose. i ended up loosing 3 nuts. i found solid stainless pate gaskets on ebay, more expensive but they are more reliable. note i am not saying the paper/steel gaskets are junk, just the ssac sends you.
