I just finished putting the greddy turbo on my s14 two weeks ago, and as soon as I did, the idle was a little jumpy, it would kinda bounce around. Worst of all though, when there is compressed air in the pipes, and you close throttle (for instance to downshift into a corner), it will actually die! This obviously, makes a fast corner very interesting when you suddenly have no more power steering lol! Any ideas? I have already zip tied every vacuum hose on the engine and there are no leaks that I can find. Help!

did you hook up the idle control correctly?

and what do you mean by zip-tied

Well by zip tied I mean that I wrapped a tie around the ends of each hose to ensure that there was a good seal. And as far as idle control, well I didn't change much. All the hoses are going where they originally went, with the exception of what I beleive is the air temp sensor which has nowhere to go, so it sits in front of the air filter. The engine did throw a code about idle control solenoid or something like that, but I never touched anything other than hoses, and after checking everything and zip tieing the hoses, I cleared the code and it never came back. I dunno I'll have to unstall and reinstall everything and see if anything changes along the way. If anyone has expierenced this prob before I'd sure like to hear how you fixed it. Thanks

Does the greddy turbo kit have a bov? That might be why it dies when you left off throttle on boost. You go rich and choke the motor out.

From my experience all KA-T's idle kinda crappy. At least without some tinkering.

If the idle is bouncing around, then it may be hunting. I would check out the idle control stuff. Where does the greedy kit run the intake source for the idle valves? It shouldn' be able to see boost, so it needs to run across the motor in front of the turbo

You have to run a recirculating bov. If the idle is rough you might have to replace the iacv valve or something like that.
