tubbed front end

i tried posting this on several 240 forums and got no replies. im just trying to figure out what would be the best thickness that would be a balance of strong and light. i know if you go too thick it wont really increase strength too much and will just add weight and if you go too thin it will be as strong as using cardboard.

To be honest, I've never seen a 240 with a tubbed front.

Ask this question on a muscle car/ drag race forum. They should have the answers you need.

ive seen the quite a bit on drift carsimport intelligence, roots factory/elite jdm/nexen, and several other cars

Dude, search really hard. I saw one on Nico not too long ago. It wasn't a shop or anything either, so they had a "real life" budget. It was one of the sickest cars I've seen on here. Not sure if you ONLY want to do the front end, but the one I saw connected to an awesome cage inside. Good luck, hope you find what you're looking for.

ive been searching every forum im a member of and some that im not a member of. i havnt been able to find any suggestions on what thickness metal should be used though. ill look on here for that thread thanks

As far as what metal to use you could use very thin aluminum like 1/32 of an inch thick.

wouldnt that be a bit too thin? i heard 1/16th was the thinnest i should use and aluminum wont weld to steel very well...
