looks like my tt swap has been pushed back again, scince i dont have access to the tools needed or knowledge enough around my car unfortunatley i have to pay someone to drop in my motor, i did some looking around and the only shop out of 3 i tried so far is trying to charge me 1500 to do the whole thing, im i getting played or is that around how much its gonna cost? and since i still need to fix my heater core for 600 and then replace my rotors for another 300, it looks like my swap is going to be delayed untill early next year.

IM PISSED!!

Kinda sucks for all that, but a 1500 drop in swap is a very nice price.

As for rotors, if you can't do it yourself you may want to look it up. Its fairly easy if you are just doing rotors, simple as it gets.

Where are you that you need a heater core and you are trying to twin turbo the car in November? CA? You might want to just have it removed and save some weight rather than replace it

im def. not gonna pay someone to put on my rotors, me and a friend of mine are planning to do it so a guide might be helpfull.

as for the heater core, i thought about removing it but im not sure... how much is the heater core itself going to cost because i believe most of that 600 is labor.

oh and i was planning to do the swap in mid december,

i had about $2000 in the bank that i could spend, and was supposed to be coming up on another 900 at the end of the month,

then i found out my rotors were warped (-300) now my heater core (-600) and then i still need to buy the neccesary parts for the swap, (intercooler, turbo timer, boost controller/gauges etc.) -? so looks like im only going to be able to but down about 1,000 on the engine so they dont try and sell it to someone else and then go from there in january.

im still kinda pissed but, i am an impatient person and im forcing myself to realize that things like this take time.

do you think i could get it for cheaper, cuz if i can bypass the heater core instead of replacing it, then there is a chance i could still do the swap at the end of dec. if i can get the job done for around 1,000 or less

Um doing rotors is basically

1)Take it apart 2)Replace3)Put back together

An easy clue when doing a simple replacement and your new to the job is to take a before picture and a picture everytime during disassembly you feel you want to reference with a digital camera. Then redo everything in reverse order following the pictures. The rotors, not hard but I will try to find you a tutorial.

Whats up with your heatercore that you need to mess with it right now neway?

it's really easy, just unbolt the calipers and brackets, opull them back and the old rotors slide off and the new ones slide on, be sure to clean both sides of the brake rotors with brake clean or acetone before instalation to remove any oils or grease applied to keep them from rusting on the shelf

my heater core is apparently leaking fluid from under my dash on the driver side. i was wearing sandals one time while driving and i just kept feeling stuff spirting out onto my foot, i thought it was water but when i got out and checked it was greenish. so yea a long story short i took it to a shop and they said its mostlikely the heater core, and i should get it replaced. but i was wondering, wouldnt my heater and or ac not work properly if my heater core is messed up, because they both work perfectly fine.
