whats up guys, i just signed up and ive always loved z32s. but my main question is whether or not i should get an Na or tt. i want something fast and at the same time not raping me for repairs. so i was wondering how your cars have treated you and what i should get

never been in a NA, but i have a TT and it's fast as hell and pretty close to stock sort of. it's probably less than 50 hp more than stock.

i sorta messed up though and didn't take it for a long test drive. if i had i might have noticed more things and gotten a lower price. live and learn....my first car buy. i took it for a short test drive and was sold.

in all honesty, i don't think you'd end up spending that much more in repairs for a tt. the only really expensive thing is if you end up having to replace one or both of the turbos. i mean the only expensive thing that you wouldn't have to worry about on an NA.

i've had my z for a month and it has its share of issues. it's got a different engine, different transmission, lots of things have been replaced, and it's been taken apart and put back together a million times. i think if you got one that was pretty close to stock and had been taken care of (fluid changes ON TIME, timing belt, turbo timer is probably a good sign cuz the turbos will be in better condition) that you'd be ok either way.

oh another thing. get an insurance quote on both. AAA quoted me at roughly 1400 per six months for a tt and i got an NA that was converted to TT and i only pay about 1025 per six months. i'm 19 - to explain the high numbers. so that's something else to consider.

or if you really have some confidence in yourself with working on cars you could get an NA and drive it for a while and eventually convert it to TT yourself.

good luck and get ready for tickets!

by the way, don't listen to anything i say - wait for the long time z owners / mods to post on this one hehe. they have more experience with the car. that is just the experience of a broke student.

Welcome to NICO! Do you know how much you will be able to spend on a Z? That will probably be the biggest factor choosing N/A or TT. A TT will have higher repair costs, especially if you cannot do the work yourself.

A nice N/A will go for around $7k-$9k. And a nice TT will go for around $12k-$15k. Although there are good deals out there.

wow, the z32's sell for more in kansas city!

fast is a reletive term, I highly recomend you drive a couple of N/A's as well as a couple of TT's, also depends on your desired use of the car is, if you just want a sleak comuter, the N/A will fot the bill, if you want to enjoy some spirited driving on or off the track the TT will be the better choice, but the extra power comes at a cost!

it depends on your price range, my price range was about 5000 so i bought my na for 4,500 its got about 180,000 miles on it now but it runs like a beast! it had no body damage at all, the only real flaws were interior, but nothing too noticable, the dome light didnt work and the driverside seat is torn. if you want something fast by the TT, it shouldnt "rape you on repairs" unless you abuse it. but the repairs on the TT would be more pricey than the NA simply becuase there is more to go wrong on a turbo car, but if you find one with low mileage it shouldnt be a big prob. for you. if you love the z the z will love you! but i havent had any probs. with my car that werent my fault. no malfunctions.

Yes they do, Z32's cost a pretty penny around KC. Last time I checked AutoTrader, there was only one TTZ for sale around KC and it was $15k.

But back on topic, if you keep up with maint. on the Z, she will treat you nicely. But of course, maint. isn't really that cheap either.

thanks for the input guys. money shouldnt be much of an issue for me cause my uncle in NJ goes to auctions on a daily basis(he owns a couple of lots) and can pick me up a tt or NA for about 5K depending on what condition i want(he is awesome for that too) hopefully ill find something local that i can test drive myself. If I can find an NA that pulls hard enough then ill get it, otherwise im going straight to TT

finding an na that pulls as hard as a stock tt will cost you more than it would just to buy a stock tt, y buy an NA if you have the connections and money to get a tt for cheap?
