Hey all. I am seeking recommendations on a clutch. I need something that will hold 500 or so HP but I want it to be as streetable as possible. I know that can be a tricky request as the pressure plate stiffness has to go up significantly with higher hp ratings. I have no experience with the z32 side of things only with Miata’s. So your input on which has the best ratio of clutch feel to grab is important.

In case your curious, this is for a miata with ls1 and gforce z32 trans adapter.

I had great luck with Southbend on my modded WRX (they make clutches for Z32s too), you'll likely be looking at Stage 3 or higher with them. A lot of the higher HP folks including myself run the Specialty Z/RPS Max Street Clutch which is claimed to be good to 700Ft/LBS, I've never had a problem but I'm in the 500-600 range. The SZ Sport Street clutch should hold upto 500 ft/lbs as well, but for the price difference I'd opt for the bigger badder MAX. Also, word of advice, clutches are generally rated by TQ not HP, if anyone claims to be a pro and tries to sell you a clutch based on HP ratings alone then chances are you're talking to the wrong person.
