Anyone know if the 03a auto can bolt up to the 01a bell housing? Ive got a 240 with an sr20det that keeps blowing through manual transmissions and I think the z32tt auto would be great a trans for my setup. But the only way it would work is if I can use an sr auto 01a bell housing. Thanks in advance because a auto trans idea isnt getting much support from 240sx technical. Lol.

I gotta ask, why auto? (please don't get all Mila Kunis on me :gapteeth: ) I wish I could help you but I know absolutely nothing about autos, what I do know is if you went with a good condition Z32 5spd (and didn't beat the living s*** out of it) it should hold up even to a 3071r SR20.

Well I was actually going to do the z32 manual trans swap and do a twin plate clutch to handle my future upgrades this winter but it got me thinking about what I use the car for...mainly drag. I could have some killer reaction times if I had an auto with a trans break wired to a "light" box. And cut a good .75 seconds from not having to shift. I know the z32 manual trans will hold some crazy power and that was my original plan with my precision 6262 turbo this winter but man a built auto would kick a**! Its funny the looks I get from my friends when I say im looking for an auto trans option... They all say "but manuals are faster" and I say ....yeah STOCK autos are slow.

Mazworx makes a conversion kit to adapt the z32 manual but with the $1000 price tag id probly say screw it and get the manual. I could probably machine the bell housing to compensate for the adapter thickness but by the time I did all that id spend all that money for a trans that would still need to be built. Any tt guys have any pictures of an auto trans bell housing where the bolts go into the case?

its the same mounting pattern as a 5MT (I believe) I think you should contact Z1, they would probably be best suited to answer all your questions.

I'd say 60% of the peoepl with swaps here did them themselves but yeah Z1 does a lot of conversions and they are overall probably the biggest name in the US in Z cars and since very recently S cars and the r35. If they cant or wont try ImportPartsPro, Specialty Z, AshSpec
