TSW Rims with Offset of 20

I was looking at a set of 19" TSW Catalunya's that have an offset of 20. Can i just add a 20MM spacer to make them fit the 06 M45 since their factory offset is 40? I have 2 bent 19" stock rims and would like to upgrade them..

From what i understand the higher the number the more the wheel sits towards the insided of the car. A 20mm offset will push the wheel further out. You would have to roll the fender to get them to fit without rubbing the tire.

Double nono.

When your offset is 20mm and you add a spacer your offset becomes zero!

Furthermore you're FAR better off getting the right offset wheel from the start. Why add weight and potential for vibrations when you can nip it by simply getting the right wheel in the first place. Also, good spacers are expensive.

Thanks for the replies, i'll try and find another TSW rim that would work wit the 40 offset.
