You can take off the door panel. You can run a wire from the motor to the chassis as a ground and another from the positive battery pole to the motor and that would jump the motor with a solid 12V to take it up or down. Reverse the wires at the motor to reverse the direction. If the motor is not toast, this wiring trick will tell you that and you'll then want to look at the amplifier and switches for the source of your problems. But, if the motor is toast (and it sounds like it could be) you need to disengage the motor gear from the track, probably by unbolting the motor, then lift your window up all the way, then put the motor back into it's spot.
Just in case (I'm not making any assumptions here), but some have worried about their passenger side windows not working. They didn't realize they hit the button on the driver's side window controls to ignore inputs from the passengers window buttons.
