(sorry that was a brain fart, I meant to say toe link bolt)

I don't know if the search function is acting up but I can't get any results on any search, so I'm going to go ahead and post a question which has prob been covered before.

I am trying to remove my driver side rear toe link because the bushing on the adjusting side is disitinegrated - but the bolt seems to be frozen to the sleeve.

I have tried putting a nut on and tapping with the hammer, but between the exhaust and the gas tank it is hard to get a good shot. I also tried using a ball joint press, but again the gas tank is in the way of getting a good seat on the bolt.

Any hints would be greatly apporeciated.

OK I even finaly broke out my new air compressor and hit it with an impact air hammer - didn't do anything but put a nice little recess in the head, again I don't think the angle really was conducive to knocking it loose.

Looks like I'll be cutting tomorrow.

Is there anywhere besides the dealer to find a new slotted bolt?

I have a spare of the reg bolt from the other end - if I had the right sized die I would try fabricating one by cutting a slot in it.

Even the dealer has to special order them, I am hoping maybe Firestone (where I was planning to get it aligned) has some and won't charge me an arm and a leg for them.

Soak the crap out of it with PB blaster or deep creep. Let that sit for a few hours. If that doesn't work, you could apply some heat on it if you are replacing the links.
