trying to pass inspection in NY

Im trying to pass inspection in the state of NY and currently my backup lights do not work when i put it in reverse... the bulbs are fine and no wires are unplugged in the back...any suggestions on what to check?

if you have an autocheck the connections on the gear selector switch [forgot its official name]

if you have a manualcheck connections on the reverse position sensor

if you have a manual conversioncheck connections between reverse position sensor and auto transmission gear selector switch socket

aight thanks alot..i have the manual..where would these connections be?..also where are the fuses located..i heard i should check the fuses aswell

Fuses are located a couple places in under the hood, usually little plastic boxes, what fuse is what should be written on the inside of the cover. The rest of the fuses should be in a compartment somewhere under the steering column by the drivers seat.

As for the connection on an MT, I believe its on top of the transmission casing, but I'm not positive. A look at Service manual from the writeup sticky in the other 240 forum should have it (depending on your year there's one for each)

well...got the new 2.5 inch catback with a resonatopr put on friday and took er down today to the shop and it passed inspectionthe only thing that doesn't work is the bacjkup lites and he knew it and still passed it..yay;-)
